Injured man sues hotel over golf buggy incident

news image A man who sustained injuries as a result of an accident involving a golf buggy is suing a hotel, it has been revealed.

Leonard Rossi alleges that the vehicle's brakes failed, making it necessary for him to leap from it as travelled towards a 15 ft drop, the Glasgow Sunday Mail reports.

The 59-year-old has now initiated legal proceedings against the Roxburghe Hotel, which is located on the banks of the River Teviot in the Scottish Borders.

Mr Rossi says he suffered cuts and bruises as a result of the incident.

He commented: "As I was coming down an incline I pressed the brakes and nothing happened. The buggy went hurtling on.

"I managed to swerve and had to make a split second decision to jump off and bailed out on to a gravel path."

Meanwhile, a hotel spokesman said the buggy was subjected to rigorous testing after the accident and was found to be in "perfect working order".
