Woman seeks payout after suffering injuries in fall
A woman who sustained serious injuries after falling in a town centre is seeking damages, it has been revealed.
According to reports in the Huddersfield Examiner, Donna Crowther suffered bruising and muscle damage to her knees after tripping over a piece of metal which she claims was protruding from a pavement.
The 46-year-old said she had been forced to take time off work as a result of the accident.
She commented: "I don't think I'll be fit to go back to work for a while because I can't stand for very long.
"It's ridiculous. There should be someone to report things like this to the council. It's what we pay tax for."
Meanwhile, Kirklees council - which is headquartered in Huddersfield's Civic Centre on Market Street - said that any such claims for compensation go through the correct processes for such issues.
