Takeaway to face food poisoning cases?

Several personal injury compensation claims could be launched against a Chinese takeaway in Swindon on the grounds of food poisoning.

According to online resource This is Wiltshire, numerous customers of the New World Express restaurant in the Regent Circus region of the town have complained to the local council of falling ill after consuming food from there.

And, after an investigation by environmental officers, it has now been found that hygiene standards in the outlet's kitchen were unacceptable, leading to the firm being issued with a fine of £14,000.

For instance, raw food was not being stored correctly on the premises, while there was also a significant build up of grease on the walls and floors of the take away.

Lee Hoa, director of the company, has admitted legal breaches and could now face damages claims from unsatisfied patrons.

Recently, the Peterborough Evening Telegraph reported that Millfield Off License in the city had been selling food more than six weeks past its expiration date.
