Eye injury leads to damages settlement

Compensation has been awarded to a man who suffered a serious eye injury during an accident at work.

According to The News, Trevor Watson will never enjoy the same level of sight out of his right eye due to an incident that occurred while he worked as a drainage engineer for Freeflow Drains - a family run firm based in the south-east of England - in Fareham in June 2008.

Mr Watson was attempting to remove a blockage by using a pressure washer when the hose flew out of control and hit him in the face.

The 42-year-old then had to undergo surgery on the deep wound just beneath his eye and will not be able to see properly again.

He told the news source that his vision in the affected eye "comes and goes".

"It felt like somebody had hit me in the head with a hammer ... I was rushed to hospital and I don't remember what happened for the rest of the time," Mr Watson added.
