According to the Leicester Mercury, Gweneth Bowler suffered fractures to her right hip and shoulder when she slipped on a wet floor at the Highcross shopping centre - which opened in September 2008 - in January this year.
The 63-year-old required hospital treatment following her fall and still suffers from a lack of movement and pain in the affected area, meaning she can no longer drive.
Consequently, she took legal action against the shopping centre and has now been granted an undisclosed but "significant" sum after the organisation admitted liability for the incident.
Ms Bowler told the news source: "As I was going through the doors to the bridge, all of a sudden my leg went from under me ... I was upset about it at the time and still am."
