Haulier could seek compensation for whiplash

A lorry driver may decide to seek a personal injury compensation settlement after suffering whiplash in a road traffic accident in the north of England.

The 50-year-old haulier required treatment at hospital when his vehicle was involved in a collision with two vans on the A66 highway at Brough earlier in the week (June 1st) and could therefore opt to pursue a claim for civil damages.

An investigation into the incident is thought to be underway, while police have urged drivers on the route to take extra care in the wake of this accident.

This crash occurred as the vans were travelling behind horse-drawn vehicles en route to the Appleby Horse Fair and the authorities have warned motorists that they should allow more time when making journeys as there are likely to be delays.

Recently, the Welsh government released figures showing that roads in the nation are at their safest levels since records began 43 years ago.
