Woman considers legal action after fall 2381

A woman is considering pursuing a claim for compensation after an instance of slipping and tripping left her with a serious knee injury.

According to the Worcester News, Josephine Ashenden fell over on a pavement on Carden Street in Worcester as she returned to her car after a shopping trip in September last year and subsequently suffered pain in the affected joint.

The 59-year-old told the news source she now has scars on her knee and may need to undergo an operation to resolve the issue as certain movements remain painful.

"I still feel it's not very safe to walk down there and while it could've been worse for me I'm still suffering," she told the news source.

Ms Ashenden has had an initial claim for damages turned down by Worcestershire County Council rejected, but is now considering consulting a personal injury specialist.

This comes after the Hull Daily Mail revealed that Hull City Council has awarded more than £300,000 in damages after falls on roads over the last three years.
